Is America and the Corporate world safer today than it was ten years ago against a cyber attack? This is a question I have heard many times in my field of work. I have ready several articles which bring this question to light as well. I would leave you the reader to answer this question. I will provide the details I believe to be relevant.
Today on FoxNews.com article titled “Study: U.S. Must Bolster Security Against Cyberattacks” The author suggest that we are not doing enough to protect the U.S and Corporations. The author states “The impact has increased in magnitude, and the potential for catastrophic collapse of a company has grown.” The author also suggests that a company could be taken down.
INSA, suggests the U.S. needs to develop strategies beyond “Patch and Pray.”
In my environment, we are seeing more and more reports of bot-nets. These bots are yet to be realized in their severity. To me, they (bots) are like sleeping giants, when awaken could cause the kind of catastrophic loses corporations and countries have yet to see.
